Can you recognize a mp3 at 320kbps?
June 20th, 2009

If you hear two sounds that are equal but with different quality, could you recognize which has a better quality?
In this Website (mp3 or not), you must choose which of the two sounds is at 320kbps, I recommend using headphones and you may be able to differentiate more accurately.
If you have a good home stereo, you will note the difference very quickly.

What if we were 100 people?
June 15th, 2009
If the Earth population were a small community of 100 people, it would be something thus:
Sex
50 men
50 women
Population by continents
61 Asians
12 Europeans
14 Americans
13 Africans
1 Australian
Religion
33 are Christian
18 are Muslim
14 are Hindus
16 are not religious
6 are Buddhist
13 people practice other religions
Economy
41 live without basic cleaning
47 live in an urban area
6 people have 59% of the total fortune
18 live without a potable water source
18 people fight to survive with less than $1 or per day
53 people fight to survive with less than $2 or per day
Feeding
13 are hungry
Education
14 cannot read
7 have secondary education
12 have a computer
3 have connection to Internet
Health
1 adult between 15 and 49 years has AIDS
9 are incapacitated people
More data
The village uses more than $1,12 trillions in military expenses
The village uses only $100 billions in aids to the development
If you have food in your refrigerator, clothes in your locker, ceiling on your head, and have a bed for sleeping, you are richer than 75% of the whole population of the world
If you have a banking account you are one of the 30 richer people in the world
This it is an interesting summary of a presentation at TheMiniatureEarth
The message that it give us is that we must value what we have; the person who is reading this message is because she is one of the 3 people in this village that has connection to Internet and would bet that also they have a house and in his great majority they have an account in a bank. We must value what we have!

Did you know that the founders of Google are paid $ 1 per month?
March 26th, 2008

Well, even if it seems strange since 2007, the Google founders: Larry Page and Sergey Bin, are been paid just a dollar as salary. The reason is the fall of its shares which fell from $ 700 to approximately $ 400.
But already have gathered a fortune that I do not think that they can spend in a lifetime. Calculating it, it will make a total of 13 billion dollars each.
Now there is a growing list of those who are paid with just one dollar per month:
- Steve Jobs
- Eric Schmidt
- Larry Page
- Sergey Brin

Video ads in search results
March 26th, 2008

The new types of ads on search results would be some small videos of 160 × 140 pixels.
They have already appeared on some search results in some countries when it is searched “phone” or “laptop” as shown in the images.
They have approximately 30 seconds in length and it is said that they have a very high CPC but this si just speculation, others suggest that it is only paid when you see the video, but the cost per view of these videos should not have much importance
Apparently this kind of ads are for selected companies such as AT & T.

how to make an add-on compatible with Firefox 3 Beta?
March 19th, 2008

At the time of testing for the first time the new beta version of Firefox 3 I loved especially for the speed and that made a big difference, but what made me think twice is that the add-ons did not work beacuse they were not compatible with this beta verion, but I found a way to make almost all my add-ons compatible simply using another extension.
This extension is Nightly Tester Tools, this extension will be able to run your add-ons again in Firefox 3 beta. Obviously not all the add-ons are going to be compatible, but most of them.
With this extension we have everything to make Firefox 3 beta our default browser.
